Competitive cheerleading brought Sam and Leon together. They wed March 28, 2015. To symbolize the joining of families, guests were asked to choose a seat, not a side…we’re all family once the knot is tied.

For her wedding, Sam wore a fitted strapless gown with lace, beaded detailing and sheer edging. The dress featured a low back and bow.  On the soles of her shoes she wrote Mrs. Kim. Est. 3-28-15. Her bridesmaids signed the bottom of her shoes. The cascading bridal bouquet included white lilies and blue orchids. Horizon blue, an almost electric blue was chosen as the couple’s ascent color for the wedding day. The bridesmaids wore horizon blue strapless gowns, except for the one male bridesmaid who wore a grey tuxedo with blue tie and vest. Leon wore a grey tuxedo with horizon blue tie and handkerchief, as did his groomsmen.

Before the ceremony the couple held hands around the corner from one another to share a final thought before the ceremony took place. During the wedding service the couple locked wine and love letters to each other in a chest to open on their one-year anniversary.

During the reception, Shania Twain’s From This Moment On was chosen for the couple’s first dance, followed by the father & daughter dance to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion and the mother & son dance to Everything I Do by Bryan Adams.

Speeches included one from the maid of honor offering Leon tips for keeping Sam happy. The best man, Leon’s older brother, shared a story of an old married couple he once knew and what everyone could learn from the love that couple shared. Sam’s father said, “Leon is everything we could have hoped for in a son-in-law.” The bride and groom toasted the speeches with custom embellished champagne flutes.

Their wedding cake was white cake with buttercream piping and fresh flowers cascading down the tiers. The cake topper was the groom ‘stunting’ the bride, a cheerleading move. Custom cake servers were used to cut the cake. For a little fun, the couple played the newlywed game, where the bride and groom sat back to back, each with one of the bride’s shoes and one of the groom’s shoes. Without looking at one another they had to answer questions about their relationship.

At the end of the night favors of shot glasses filled with candy that said Take a shot, we tied the knot were taken home. A signature Villa Siena sparkler farewell bid the newlyweds good-night. Congratulations Sam and Leon. May your love take you to new heights. We wish you the best.
