Liz and Andrew met in Afghanistan where the two worked in military intelligence. As a nod to their military service, the groom’s cake was decorated in halves with a military uniform and black tuxedo.

For the ceremony Andrew wore a grey tuxedo with a yellow calla lily in his lapel and a patterned bow tie. However, for part of the photography shoot Andrew changed into his military uniform. Liz looked like she stepped out of the pages of a vintage Hollywood glamour magazine. Her gown dove into a V in back with beaded detailing around the waist. The silk skirt was finished with rouching as was the bodice of the dress. A headband sparkled in her hair while a veil flowed down her back. She carried a bouquet of blue orchids, orange gerbera daisies and yellow daisies. The day felt warmer for the smiles that passed back and forth between the newlyweds.

For the wedding, the couple went through the ritual of a traditional ceremony and vows. A wine ceremony was included, where both Liz and Andrew enclosed a letter with a bottle of wine to be opened on their first wedding anniversary.

Tables at the reception were decorated with books and candles. There were also carved wedding ducks, which are a Korean tradition symbolic of good luck, because mandarin ducks mate for life. After dinner the dance floor was lit up with specialty lighting as the bride cut a rug after changing into a white fitted above-the-knee dress. During speeches, the bride offered up a thank-you to her friends and family who attended the wedding.

For their first dance, the couple chose Jack Johnson’s Better Together, to which they danced a very funny, cute slow dance. This was followed by the father & daughter dance to What a Wonderful World.

Alongside the groom’s cake a traditional cake was also served. Two miniature white Adirondack chairs served as cake toppers. The top layer of the cake had a fondant C in front with a harlequin design on the second tier and a ruffled design on the third tier. Red flowers and black ribbon added accent points to the cake.

To commemorate the occasion a photograph was taken with all friends and family included. Congratulations Liz and Andrew. May your days unfold with the secrets of love. We wish you the best.
