Amy & Sergio ~ April 16, 2015

alone-005

April 16, 2015 the wedding began with the ring bearer carrying a sign saying, Tio Serg, Here Comes the Bride. Bagpipes began to play as Amy walked down the aisle to her groom, Sergio. Emotion overcame the groom as he saw his bride. The couple exchanged personalized vows and included two Scottish blessings in the ceremony.

Amy was a radiant bride in an asymmetrical strapless gown with a cathedral length veil. With a nod to her Scottish heritage, the bride wore plaid shoes made with the family tartan. Although the bride sparkled enough on her own, she added pear-shaped diamond earrings and a necklace to her look. The bridal bouquet brought together white roses and thistles, larger in size than the bouquets carried by the bridesmaids. Bridesmaids were dressed in royal blue strapless floor-length gowns.

Sergio wore a grey tuxedo with piping, a tartan handkerchief and thistle with white rose pinned to his lapel. A sky blue tie added formality, while his argyle socks, the color of Amy’s family tartan, tied the couple’s ensembles together. The groomsmen wore grey tuxedos with royal blue ties. At any Scottish wedding there will be kilts but the bride’s father joked with guests that his kilt was ‘not a skirt.’

The couple originally met in Diversity Camp in College and the love that developed has stayed true through the years.

Friends and family surrounded them for their big day. The sign-in table was decorated with a gold glitter “LOVE.’ Outside the Villa was a sign reading ‘The best things in life are meant to be shared. Thank you for celebrating with us today.’

 Reception-015

Roses and thistles decorated the villa as did gold glitter table numbers and a frame for the seating chart. The wedding cake was a four-tier fondant cake with pearl piping on the top layer and the couple’s monogram in yellow on the third tier. Floral textured fondant decorated alternating layers. The top and bottom tier were vanilla raspberry flavored while the middle tiers were red velvet.

Congratulations Amy and Sergio. May your days sparkle with the love you offer one another. We wish you the best.
