Yolanda and Louie met in math class, and were able to count themselves lucky on Saturday, January 16, 2016 – their wedding day.

The bride wore a stunning, modified A-line cut, sweetheart dress – her skirt and veil brushing the ground with layers of white lace. The bridesmaids’ dresses were similar in texture, as all seven members of the bridal party wore floor length, lace-strewn gowns in soft pink – and each with a unique neckline. Bride and bridesmaids held a bouquet of light pink roses, white hydrangeas, and baby’s breath. The groom was donned in a deep navy suit, matching his seven groomsmen.

Guests were treated to a buffet from Magic Touch Catering, featuring sliced beef tenderloin with a cognac cream sauce and horseradish aioli, plus a mixed greens salad, grilled vegetables, and potatoes au gratin.

Dessert included homemade treats, HERSHEY’S Chocolate Kisses, and of course, the gorgeous wedding cake. The four-tier, circular, white-in-color cake was adorned with billowing pink and white flowers placed diagonally across the front. The tiers included spice cake with cream cheese frosting, and almond cake with almond butter cream frosting.

The toasts given were sincere, sweet, and humorous. Sarah, Maid of Honor and college friend, said God and the universe brought Yolanda and Louie together. The Best Man, Manuel, told of how he and Louie met in an engineering group, and he knew they’d be best friends forever. The groomsmen included two other Best Men, one lamenting how he’s seen the new couple’s relationship grow from the beginning; the other sharing a “bromance” story of how Louie was picking a girl way out of his league.

The Father of the Bride confessed his nervousness, like he “was getting married that day,” and said he liked Louie from the beginning, and was proud to call him his son. The Father of the Groom took the crowd back in time, detailing days when he would drop his son off at school, and there would be a little girl smiling at Louie from ear to ear.

Yolanda and Louie’s first dance was to Robin Thicke’s “Lost Without You.” The Father/Daughter Dance was to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, while the Mother/Son Dance was to “Como Te Extraño Mi Amor” by Leo Dan.

The night also included a raucous lip sync battle between the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. A large, wooden “B” for Benitez was also available for guests to sign, leaving well wishes for the newly weds.
