Shawna & Clay ~ April 6, 2012

April 6, 2012 brought blue skies and sunny smiles to Villa Siena for Shawna and Clay’s wedding. The bride looked picturesque in a fitted strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace accents. Her bouquet added a soft touch to compliment her ensemble with white roses. The only touch of color was hidden under the dress where Shawna’s navy blue heels with bows and toenail polish offered a hint of sassiness. The groom chose a classic look with black tuxedo, white vest and white tie and looked fantastic. Violet was the accent color for the bridal party with bridesmaids in strapless knee-length dresses and groomsmen in matching vests and ties. The flower girls wore white dresses with crinoline skirts and purple sashes around the waist. When the flower girls started their procession down the aisle, the younger of the two carried a sign announcing Here comes the bride,” while the elder tossed white flower petals onto the red runner. Both bride and groom were flushed with love as they exchanged vows. Carrying the color scheme into the reception, the couple accented programs and menus with plum ink. The tables were personalized with silver framed photographs of guests on their wedding days as well as wine bottles used to display floral arrangements. Votive candles softened the look and added ambiance. Napkins carried a reminder of what weddings are all about with the words All You Need is Love. Also set out on the table were the wedding favors; a CD of music from the wedding with the cover of the CD featuring a photograph of the couple and bells. The children attending received goodie bags. The guestbook was decorated with images of the bride and groom and offered space for blissful advice. The cake cutting ceremony reflected the first task a bride and groom do together and the feeding of the cake to one another symbolized the commitment of the bride and groom to sustain each other through the years. Shawna and Clay had a three-tiered cake, alternating two circular tiers with a square tier. Violet ribbon and fresh flowers accented each layer. Who knows if the couple will find a silver dollar in their top tier on their one-year wedding anniversary? Hopefully joy and success will be theirs every year. With a traditional Villa Siena sparkler farewell, the couple embarked on their first night as a married couple. May you have many days of joy and peace to come. Thank you for celebrating with us.
