Priti & Pankaj ~ March 2, 2013

A traditional Indian ceremony for Priti and Pankaj took place at Villa Siena March 2, 2013.  For the two-hour outdoor ceremony, guests were given water and snacks. A mundup was constructed for the occasion with red and ivory silk draped over it and fresh flowers. A red carpet led to the mundup while red rose petals filled the fountain.

Pankaj made a dramatic entrance as he was carried into the ceremony on the shoulders of friends and family. He wore an ivory jacket embroidered with red and gold thread. A red scarf with gold embroidery hung around his neck. The groomsmen also wore ivory jackets with gold embroidery and red pants. As the men prepared for the ceremony the bride was surrounded by her bridesmaids who wore ivory and red dresses with a single shoulder strap. Priti was stunning in a red dress embroidered with gold thread and elaborate gold jewelry. Per tradition, the bride had an intricate henna design on her hands and feet.

After the ceremony the couple changed out of their formal clothing into more casual attire. The groom enjoyed cigars and a drink with his friends as the reception got under way.

Orchids were the centerpieces for the tables with crystals hanging from them lit by votive candles. An orchid tree sat behind the couple’s table while white roses freshened the look. On each table was a picture of the couple.

The bride’s father spoke of the couple’s relationship and how excited he was for a new son. He offered advice to the newlyweds and spoke of a couple’s love for each other. The groom’s father talked about his love for the bride and groom and how proud he was of his son for finding Priti.

For dessert, a four-tiered wedding cake with gold decoration and a red fondant scarf with fresh pink roses was served. The cake was chocolate mousse and strawberry shortcake. Votive candles were the favors.

Congratulations Priti and Pankaj. We hope your life together is as beautiful as your wedding day.
