Melanie & Jesus ~ January 25, 2013

Melanie and Jesus were married January 25, 2013 at Villa Siena. The couple built friendship and love over the course of 9 years after they first met at school. For the ceremony the groom wore a grey tuxedo with satin piping and a black tie. The groomsmen wore the same style tuxedo with silver ties and each wore different color argyle socks. The bridesmaids made a splash in purple gowns with beaded detailing across the top, but no one drew as much attention as the bride who looked stunning in a strapless gown that was fitted to the hip then flowed out into a princess style skirt with sequined details. Underneath the dress was a pair of sparkly silver open-toed shoes. Melanie wore a traditional veil over hair that was styled into a half up-do. Melanie’s bouquet was a mix of purple and pink flowers with greenery. Attached to the ribbon around the bouquet was a miniature framed photograph of her sister who had passed.

The wedding ceremony began with a prayer. The officiant delivered the vows in both English and Spanish. As is tradition for many Mexican ceremonies, the couple had a wedding cord placed around them to symbolize eternal unity. The couple also  offered a dedication to Melanie’s sister. After the couple kissed, the groomsmen picked up Jesus and threw him in the air as everyone cheered.

After the ceremony rain moved in which made the day all the more intimate and special. A photo booth captured some wonderful memories. To help guests find their tables for dinner a bottle of wine served as a table number with the bride and groom’s name on each one. Favors were bottle openers and stoppers.

For the first dance, Melanie and Jesus came together for David Gray’s This Year’s Love followed by My Little Girl by Tim McGraw for the father/daughter dance. The groom and his mother danced to No Basta by Franco Decito.

No one will forget when the maid of honor rapped to the theme song from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, or when the Father of the Bride welcomed Jesus into the family and told him to take care of his little girl. The Father of the Groom delivered a heartfelt speech in Spanish.

A memorable night for a memorable couple. Congratulations Melanie & Jesus. We wish you health, happiness and laughter in your life together.
