Kristi & Molly ~ February 13, 2016

Villa-Siena-Purple-Wedding-Reception (37)Kristi and Molly met as freshman at the University of Arizona, where they were in the same sorority. Years later, they were married on Saturday, February 13, 2016.

Each bride modeled a floor-length wedding gown with semi-sweetheart necklines – Kristi sporting a frothy train while Molly modeled a more sleek train. Kristi also donned a silver ribbon belted around her waist. The four bridesmaids accompanied each bride, all donning deep purple tea-length dresses with semi-sweetheart, illusion, and asymmetric necklines. Each member of the bridal party held hand-tied bouquets of purple roses and white hydrangeas.

Guests of Kristi and Molly’s processional were met with a sign reading, “Choose a seat not a side, either way it’s for a bride!!!” Molly’s brother-in-law was the officiant, and the couple performed the sand ceremony.

A buffet style dinner served mixed greens salad and Caribbean chicken with mashed potatoes. A candy bar featured a huge, sparkling “K&M,” and offered mostly purple candies, which could be taken home in little purple take-out-style boxes.

The four-tiered wedding cake was very specific to our brides, and came in almond with almond frosting, almond with raspberry filling, and red velvet. Three tiers were white with white piping with purple ribbon along the bottom. The third layer was red, white, and blue in color, and was embellished with the iconic U of A wildcat logo. The purple cake topper read, “She’s her LOBSTER” – a favorite quote of Phoebe Buffay from Friends.

A table at the reception presented the Irish Wishing Stone Tradition, where guests were instructed to, “Please take a stone and write a wish, memory, advice, or anything you want on it. Make sure to sign your name! Then, place it in the glass vase. Thank you!”

Kristi’s father Barry gave a toast, as well as Molly’s father, Joe, who recounted how Kristi helped Molly with her anxiety during college. Molly’s three sisters, Bridget, Kelly, and Kiernan, spoke together, and told stories of them all growing up together.

Kristi and Molly’s first dance was to “Then” by Brad Paisley, and a Father/Daughter Dance was to “My Girl” by The Temptations. The brides and their eight bridesmaids also surprised their family and guests with an elaborate, choreographed dance.

Best wishes to the brides!
