Kim & Joe ~ November 14, 2015

TurWed-1180Kim and Joe met through a friend and were married November 14, 2015. The couple began their ceremony by remembering friends who recently passed away. The groom’s cousin then gave a reading on love from the bible as well as silly tips on marriage. The couple lit a unity candle to bring their two lives together as one.

For her wedding Kim wore a gown from Lillian Lottie Couture. The gown featured a beaded bodice with plunging neckline and a full tulle skirt. Her hair was worn in an up-do and finished with beaded edging. By her side were her bridesmaids in charcoal grey strapless gowns with empire waists. The groom was handsome in a grey tuxedo with grey vest, white shirt and white striped tie and a white rose in his lapel. The groomsmen also wore grey tuxedos with grey vests but had purple ties and purple roses in their lapels. The flowers that stood out the most were those in the bridal bouquet, which brought together white and purple poppies, roses, hydrangeas and calla lilies.

Because the ceremony was outdoors, guests were given sunglasses as favors to help with the strong Arizona sun. The altar was decorated with an elaborate floral arrangement book-ended by white candles.

At the reception during speeches, the father of the bride gave a humorous speech. The sister of the bride was wearing a sash when she stood up for her speech saying the family had named her ‘Miss America’ but she took off the sash and handed it to her sister because Kim deserved to be Miss America on her wedding day. The best man, who has also been the groom’s best friend for sixteen years talked about the groom’s dog, Montana.

The wedding cake was a three-tiered red velvet cake. Each tier featured a different design with the top tier a smooth, pearl fondant wrapped with a crystal ribbon, the middle tier a pin-tucked design and the bottom tier filled with fondant roses. The cake topper was of the couple’s dog, who had a sign around its neck saying I do, too. The groom’s cake was the letter A for University of Arizona finished in U of A colors. Along with cake guests were treated to their choice of flavors of gelato.

The night ended with surprise fireworks. Congratulations Kim & Joe. May the love you felt for each other on your wedding day continue to blossom as each day passes. We wish you the best.
