Kim & Chris ~ May 19, 2012

May 19, 2012 united Kim and Chris together in marriage. Their outdoor wedding ceremony at the Villa couldn’t have happened on a brighter, sunnier day. As well as using flowers for decorations, feathers and crystals played a major role in creating a distinct look for the ceremony and reception. The fountain, filled with rose petals, splashed over rows of crystals, while the unity candle was set on display surrounded by feathers and highlighted with crystals. The subtle use of crystals caught the light and brought attention to different features of the villa. The bridesmaids were also adorned with beautiful chunky crystal necklaces that were bridesmaids’ gifts. Their crimson strapless, knee-length dresses were a light material for the warmer weather. Some of the women wore feather fascinators in their hair, and all had white heels. Their bouquets were a combination of white and pink roses, while the bride’s bouquet was a simple white rose arrangement with greenery for a fresh, clean look. The bride herself looked fabulous. She wore a single-strap gown with fitted bodice and A-line tulle skirt. Her hair was worn down with the exception of a few pieces from the front secured with a feather fascinator. Her veil was edged with crystals. Before the ceremony all her bridesmaids surrounded her and helped with the finishing touches while her mother helped her into her gown. The bride wore two garter belts – one for the reception and one for later that night. Then the champagne was popped and the ladies toasted the bride before her walk down the aisle. The bride’s mother escorted her to her husband, who looked simply handsome in a black tuxedo with a white vest, white tie and white shirt. The reception offered a traditional feel with centerpieces of raised candles and crimson runners with feathers in the centerpiece. Votive candles in crystal holders reflected a warm glow. And then the bridal party entered with a splash. Sparky, the Arizona State University mascot ran out with the bridal party as the guests yelled and cheered. Kim and Chris followed to applause. Sparky posed with people and got the energy levels in the room up. Then the couple danced their first dance to Marry Me by Train. The dance was choreographed and the couple looked like they belonged together. Forever is a long time, but considering the matron of honor has known the bride since they were children going to the beach together and the best man had known the groom since kindergarten, this couple understands commitment and unconditional love. The favors were lottery tickets with the phrase “Luck in Love,” on them. Sweet sentiments and guests’ sweet cravings were all accounted for with an ivory frosted cake with wavy frosting ribbons and flower button decorations. There was also an ice cream sundae bar with fresh strawberries, M&Ms, nuts, chocolate and caramel syrups, and whipped cream. The kids weren’t the only ones lining up. As the celebration got into full swing, white feather boas made their way onto the dance floor. This fantastic day couldn’t have happened without Chris and Kim’s love. Congratulations.
