Jiarong & Henry ~ January 27, 2013

This intimate wedding took place on January 27, 2013. With 70 friends and family in attendance Jiarong and Henry exchanged vows. The couple met on-line but seemed like they had known each other forever.

Chinese tradition dictates that the bride wear four different dresses, each dress of a different color symbolizing a different fortune. For the ceremony Jiarong wore a strapless dress with beaded detailing on top and a sweeping skirt. The bride chose a diamond tiara and exquisite diamond necklace to add a little sparkle to the ensemble. Her bouquet was a pastel mix of purple, peach and white flowers. During the reception the bride changed into a purple gown, turquoise one and finally a less formal white dress.

The groom wore a suit with purple shirt and tie and had a purple flower was in his lapel. Throughout the night he was the perfect gentleman who let his bride shine.

The short ceremony included the officiant offering advice on love.

During the cocktail hour assorted cheese and crackers, fruits and vegetables were served. Music was slow and romantic throughout most of the night. While the couple’s first dance was to Hero by Enrique Iglesias, they also danced to Beautiful by Jim Brickman because it was the song they danced to the night after they got engaged. Other couples were then asked to join them.

Henry’s best man gave a wonderful speech about how the two met in high school when he asked Henry if he could copy his homework. But it was when Henry talked about Jiarong that his friend knew this was the perfect woman for Henry. He toasted “to husband, to wife, may they be lovers for life.”

Various games were played throughout the night including a scavenger hunt, musical chairs and ‘ask the bride and groom any question.’

The cake was vanilla with butter cream frosting and coconut filling. Congratulations Jiarong and Henry. May every day of your lives be filled with sweetness and kindness.
