Jalene & Tom ~ May 26, 2012

May 26, 2012 welcomed Jalene and Tom to Villa Siena to celebrate their marriage. The couple met in college and brought a youthful energy to the day. The weather was vibrant as was the color scheme of yellow, black and bright green: the perfect trio of colors for spring. The bride arrived with close friends and wore a robe with ‘bride’ in crystals on the back while the finishing touches were done to hair and make-up before she stepped into her gown. The dress had spaghetti straps and that came down into a V shaped neckline with a sash around the waist and beaded detailing in front. Covered buttons and a delicate flower finished the look of the dress in back with four more flowers trailing down the back at different lengths. Jalene’s hair was swept up and to the side in loose curls with a diamond hair fastener in the shape of a flower. The flower imagery continued at the edging of her trailing veil. Jalene’s bouquet, a mix of white flowers, had just the slightest accent of greenery. Simple jewelry that included pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet were all that were needed for this stunning bride. Bridesmaids wore black knee-length dresses with bouquets of yellow and green. The back of each dress was slightly different, with two of the bridesmaids wearing a single shoulder strap, one with the strap down the middle of the back and two criss-crossed. They all wore their hair down to let the bride’s up-do stand out. The groomsmen wore grey vests, ties and yellow boutonnières, while the groom offered casual elegance with a white tie, white shirt, white vest, white calla lily and white handkerchief in his pocket. The Villa was done up with a black runner for the bride edged with white and yellow rose petals and a floral arrangement at the alter. Our fountain cascaded with yellow and white flower petals. The ceremony was light-hearted with the bride and groom filling the air with laughter. For the photo shoot, the couple stood behind their sports; the bride posing with her soccer ball and the groom with his football. Programs, menus and place settings were all black and white with bright green as an accent color. The place cards rested on wine corks atop a bed of moss, giving the celebration a rustic feel. Tables were set with black tablecloths and green napkins with floral arrangements of white hydrangeas, yellow roses and green spider mums. Table numbers were wine bottles with the couple’s name on them. Once the seriousness of the ceremony was finished, the bride kicked off her shoes and wore flip-flops while the groom donned sunglasses for the big entrance. Because the unity candle wouldn’t stay lit during the ceremony, the couple lit it together during the celebration. Their first dance was Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight and the father/daughter dance was Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. The cake was a lavish four-tiered affair with black and white detailing on two layers alternating with a white harlequin pattern and green ribbon. The layers also alternated between chocolate and vanilla with buttercream frosting. For favors, the couple sent guests home with popcorn bags flavored with cinnamon, cheese and caramel. As Jalene and Tom left, a signature Villa Siena sparkler exit captured a last smile from the couple before the day ended. Congratulations, Jalene and Tom. We wish you the best.
