Erika & Seth ~ December 28, 2018

The Lady and The Officer

Erika and Seth had a very short window in which to get married; Seth (an officer in the military) was coming home for Christmas, and the couple — who first met in kindergarten — wanted to get married during his time in Arizona. Thankfully, fate was smiling on these sweet lovebirds, and they were able to book the Villa Siena for their December 28th nuptials.

The wedding was a beautiful, classic affair with a romantic color palette of red and blush pink. Erika looked stunning in her Mia Solano gown, which featured a full skirt with lace appliques and a beaded bodice with a sweetheart neckline. Her bridesmaids looked lovely in their long cranberry red dresses, carrying bouquets of red and pink roses. Seth looked dashing in his Army dress blues; two of his groomsmen also wore dress blues, while three others wore classic black tuxes. Two flower girls in white and gold dresses with red sashes and a precious ring bearer (who was so young he couldn’t yet walk, and was pulled down the aisle in a rose-covered wagon) rounded out the bridal party.

During the ceremony, Erika and Seth signed their marriage license and lit a unity candle to signify their new life together. Once the “I dos” were exchanged and the Maddys were officially man and wife (yay!), the couple finished the ceremony with a traditional military sword exit. Then, it was time for the reception!

The couple started the reception with a grand entrance and a first dance to “Dancing Shoes” by Green River Ordinance before dancing with their parents; Erika and her father danced to “The Way You Look Tonight,” and Seth and his mother danced to “My Wish.” For dinner, guests were treated to a mixed green salad, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and chicken caprese.

The reception was a fun-filled and joyous evening. The best man, maid of honor, groom’s sister, and father of the bride all gave heartfelt speeches, and guests danced the night away while guests danced the night away (between photo sessions at the rented photo booth). As the evening came to a close, Mr. and Mrs. Maddy headed off into the night with a stunning sparkler exit. It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple, and we were so glad we could make their special day a reality!
