Emily & Jeremy ~ February 20, 2016

The story of Emily and Jeremy is like something out of a movie. Emily’s mother, whom worked with Jeremy, set them up. After a few dates, Jeremy knew Emily was the one, but she thought he came on too strong. Emily then suffered a brain aneurysm, lost her short-term memory, and forgot Jeremy. They reconnected later through Facebook, hit it off, and were eventually married on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

Emily wore a sweetheart cut, Stella York bridal gown with a mermaid hem. The flower girl also wore white with a solid black ribbon belt and white flats. Emily’s six bridesmaids wore fuchsia colored, tea length gowns with unique necklines and tan platform sandals – each holding a bouquet of pink and purple roses, lavender stock, and raspberry freesia, as did the bride.

The groom and his four groomsmen wore deep navy suits – the groom sporting a black bowtie while the groomsmen donned neckties.

During the outdoor ceremony, the bride and groom each gave a rose to their mothers as a thank you to their families. A harpist accompanied the ceremony while the officiant asked them to reflect on how far they’ve come.

A plated dinner included salad, sautéed chicken breast, and sliced beef tenderloin with mixed veggies and butternut squash ravioli. The wedding cake was three tiered with textured white frosting and cascading flowers of pink, white, and lavender roses and raspberry freesia running down the front.

Fathers of the bride and groom gave memorable toasts during the reception. The Father of the Bride expressed his good fortune is watching his daughter grown into a beautiful lady, through she’ll always be his little girl, and how he wishes both of them a journey full of compassion and joy. The Father of the Groom recounted stories of Jeremy as a child, and how Emily is the best thing to come to Jeremy’s life, saying, “We are witnessing a true love story.”

Emily and Jeremy’s first dance was to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, while the Father/Daughter Dance was to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. We all wish Emily and Jeremy all the luck, though they don’t seem to need it.
