Chantel & Mitch ~ January 10, 2013

January 10, 2013 joined Chantel and Mitch in love and in life. The couple met at the bank they both worked at. After Mitch left, they stayed in touch and went to dinner and movies together. In December 2011, at a Christmas party, friends asked if they were finally together and if not, why not? They asked themselves the same question and a light switch turned on. The relationship began.

Villa Siena hosted the wedding ceremony and reception for the couple so obviously in love. Throughout the day were personal touches and sweet moments. From the minute Chantel walked down the aisle in a strapless wedding gown with gathered skirt with slight lace detailing, the fun began. The short wedding ceremony included only vows and an exchanging of rings. The family was involved in the wedding preparations. The mother of the groom catered the event while the mother of the bride made the centerpieces.

At the reception, each member of the bridal party was introduced as they entered the reception area. The best man thanked everyone for coming, then offered the father of the bride some advice “Don’t look at today as giving your daughter away, but rather gaining an amazing addition to your family.” The maid of honor took a slightly more humorous approach by giving Mitch a bag full of goodies including a dog leash to help Chantel walk her dog, a blanket to keep skinny Chantel warm, and stretchy pants because Chantel loves to bake and treats will help expand Mitch’s waist.

The DJ invited two couples close to the bride and groom to show Chantel and Mitch their best kiss so the newlyweds could learn. Then came the cutting of the cake. The three-tiered delight had black satin ribbon topped with the word ‘LOVE’ in black letters with crystal detailing. Instead of feeding a bite to Mitch, Chantel smashed the cake in his face.

To freshen their breath at the end of the night, favors were mints in cases that were decorated and tagged with a note ‘Thank you! Mitch and Chantel, January 10, 2013’. A traditional sparkler farewell ended the night.

Congratulations Chantel and Mitch. May the smiles you shared on your wedding day be smiles you share fifty years from now.
