Brittany & Joe ~ May 25, 2012

Brittany and Joe exchanged their vows at Villa Siena May 24, 2012. Before we go into the details of the wedding a mention has to be made of the bride’s Badgley Mischka shoes. They were a stunning silver harlequin design. Absolutely amazing, but no less stunning than the bride. Brittany wore a traditional lace cathedral veil with scalloped edging around the face. The dress was cut at the waist with delicate floral decoration accenting a sweetheart neckline. The veil was worn during the ceremony, while a feather fascinator added a distinct look for the reception. Brittany’s bouquet consisted of a combination of hydrangeas and pale pink roses complimenting her dress. The bridesmaids wore grey strapless floor-length dresses with ruching around the bust. To match the bride, Joe’s mother pinned a feather boutonnière on his lapel with a combination of grey and white feathers. His grey tuxedo had tails, which  looked very debonair. The groomsmen mirrored the bridesmaids with grey ties and grey vests. During the ceremony, a string quartet played. Both mothers lit candles together and the couple exchanged a Hawaiian blessing and Maile Leis, or garlands made from green leaves to symbolize love and a connection to the land. The recessional song was In My Life by the Beatles. During the reception, a recording from the bride’s grandmother was played, as she wasn’t able to attend. To celebrate love throughout the years, married couples were invited to dance in the anniversary dance where they could remain on the floor until the DJ announced a year until the couple married the longest remained. They also had advice cards for different anniversaries. Dinner was Mahi-mahi and beef tenderloin with a side of baked penne pasta. Favors were jars of M&Ms and a card that read Merci. Dancing continued throughout the night with country music from the 80’s before the Villa Siena’s signature sparkler farewell bid the couple a good night. Merci Brittany and Joe for sharing your wedding day with us. We wish you a beautiful life together.
