Bahar & Brent ~ April 22, 2012

April 22nd marked a day of celebration for Bahar and Brent. The bride looked radiant in a strapless gown with silver beaded detailing that wrapped from an empire waist into a V around back, with repeated detailing just above the knee where the dress flowed out into a mermaid style gown. Pink heels were hidden during the ceremony beneath the gown, but a brightness shone in Bahar’s smile. Bahar wore her long hair swept to the side with a veil and diamond drop earrings. Her bridesmaids wore stylish salmon-colored knee-length dresses that felt like the flowers of spring with a bright splash of color. Both the bride and bridesmaids had bouquets of white roses with greenery for accents and sprigs of ivy. The groom was relaxed and in great spirits wearing a black tuxedo with a champagne-colored striped tie and paisley vest, while the groomsmen wore salmon colored ties to compliment the bridesmaids. As the bride took her first steps towards her groom, accompanied by both her mother and father, she felt judgment upon her. In a reserved section sat three other brides-to-be that were taking notes of every aspect of her wedding as part of The Learning Channel’s (TLC) Four Weddings. In the show, brides attend the weddings of three other contestants and then vote on who had the best wedding for a chance at an amazing honeymoon vacation prize. The episode featuring Bahar and Brent’s wedding will air on August 30th, 2012.  There were tons of fun personalized details to accompany the wedding that were no doubt memorable to the other brides. The couple was married in a Persian wedding ceremony. Before the sweetness of the couple’s love spread through food, desserts and dances, the couple was showered with sweets to mark the beginning of their life together. Guests were greeted with cotton candy martinis served from a nostalgic pink cotton candy maker. They were also invited to sip a green Arnold Palmer (lemonade and green tea), or for the more adventurous, the couple’s signature martini consisting of cranberry, lime-aid, vodka and club soda. The mixers had leaves on the end declaring Spring is so sweet, Just take a sip & repeat. Then the entertainment began with a special guest performance by a musical group from Arizona State University, which included a fully costumed rendition of YMCA. There was also an African Dance because Bahar and Brent were engaged in Africa. Guests were treated to a S’mores bar with a sign over top reading Share in S’more love. There was also a sweets table with white chocolate, dark chocolate, traditional chocolate and chocolate covered peanut butter. The cake was decorated with sparkly butterflies that also sat atop the monogrammed R. Sweetness came not just from candy, but also from the heart, as the couple remembered loved ones through photographs on their Memory Tree. Guests were invited to leave advice in their ‘Marriage 101’ box. The couple danced the night away, before being caught by the photographer holding a sign saying And they lived happily ever after, which we know they will. Congratulations Bahar & Brent. May your lives always feel like a fairytale.
