Ashley and Danny: Elegance, Wine, and a Little Whimsy
For Ashley and Danny’s wedding this past April, the party started when the bridal party pulled up to the Villa in a white hummer limo. The bride and groom (plus their retinue) headed to their respective suites, where they got ready for the big day; the bridesmaids dressed in long plum gowns with assorted necklines, while the groomsmen kept it simple in timeless navy suits with plum ties. But of course, the real star of the show was Ashley, who stunned us all in her gorgeous Allure Bridals gown, complete with a mermaid cut, an open back and lace from top to bottom!
The couple chose a color scheme of white, plum, and lavender for their big day — and we have to say, those rich colors looked especially stunning against the earthy tones of our Piazza Toscana! Ashley walked down the aisle while a string quartet played “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” (and trust us, no one could!) before exchanging vows with the love of her life. They also performed a wine box ceremony during the wedding, in which Ashley and Danny sealed up love letters and a bottle of wine into a box, which they will open on their one-year anniversary (too cute).
As guests entered the Villa for the reception, they were greeted by an array of wine bottles, each bearing the dates of important moments in the couple’s relationship. Guests mingled before sitting down to a delicious meal of Caprese salad, filet mignon and dover sole, wild rice, and creamy mashed potatoes.
Then, it was time for dancing (including a beautiful first dance for Ashley and Danny, set to “Latch” by Sam Smith) and dessert. The couple served a beautiful white a purple cake with a little surprise — a small fondant Deadpool peeking out from under the cake!
This fun detail was just one of the ways this couple kept their guests smiling and laughing from the start of the wedding to the sparkler exit.
