Alicia & Marquise ~ August 24, 2012

Alicia and Marquise were married at Villa Siena August 24, 2012. Marquise first laid eyes on Alicia when high school started. He said ‘girl, when you going to write me and give me your number.’ Alicia laughed and walked away, but Marquise knew this was the one for him. He wrote poems to her twice a day for a month with sayings like ‘girl, your beauty should be a crime.’ His persistence and charm paid off and Alicia finally came around. When he popped the question she said yes. The couple’s story was told on a framed chalkboard for all the guests to appreciate and ended lightly with ‘Mr. & Mrs. Reeves live happily ever after.’ The couple and the couple’s family know the work that goes into making a marriage work. As the father of the bride said, “marriage requires patience, tolerance and forgiveness. Marriage is like your zumba class and weight lifting, it requires work.” That Marquise never gave up on Alicia and that Alicia’s love for Marquise is so clear, no doubt their prediction will come true.

The bride looked gorgeous in a strapless gown with a beaded top, fitted bodice and full skirt that swept open to reveal lace detailing. With her bridesmaids beside her to help her with her dress and her garter, Alicia didn’t let show any of the stress she felt organizing the wedding; she simply glowed. Her bouquet was a colorful arrangement of mixed flowers of purple and pink. The bridesmaids wore strapless purple dresses. The groomsmen’s wore purple ties with black suits and shirts. The ceremony was held inside with white flower petals and candles lining the aisle. The couple lit a unity candle together and Marquise helped Alicia place her candle back in the holder. As the ceremony ended, guests blew bubbles instead of throwing rice because as the couple advised ‘Rice may be tradition, but bubbles are more fun. Once the groom has kissed his bride, blow bubbles at the couple for good wishes. As they take their walk down the aisle as the new Mr. & Mrs.

A slideshow of the couple played during the reception. Personalized wine bottles with a picture of the bride and groom were on each table. Favors were candy in thank you bags. The couple left to a Villa Siena signature sparkler farewell. The couple showed us on their wedding day that ‘true love never ends…,’ and this is just the beginning of a beautiful life together. Congratulations.
