Abby & Robert ~ June 14, 2012

June 14, 2012 was a clear, sunny day for Abby & Robert’s reception at Villa Siena. The bride and groom arrived from the ceremony looking fabulous. Abby wore a gown that was fitted to the waist with a sash embellished with delicate flowers before flowing into a full skirt with a crinoline top layer. The result was a soft, summery effect. For comfort, the bride wore white flats. Her hair was tied up in a bun with a few loose curls hanging around her face and a pearl and diamond hairpiece. That paired with pearl earrings created a clean look for the bride. Besides, the only sparkle she needed was in her smile. The bridesmaids, including the maid of honor and Abby’s twin sister, wore purple strapless knee-length dresses and also wore white flats to match their white bouquets. The groom’s smile showed that he felt like the luckiest man in the world. He chose a black tuxedo with satin edging, a black vest and white tie. The groomsmen wore all black save for purple ties that matched the bridesmaid’s dresses. Everyone had a blast, including the three flower girls in their white dresses with purple sashes and the ring bearer in his black tuxedo with purple tie. Purple continued as an accent color for the reception with centerpieces showcasing a large candle with fresh flower petals on a lace display board surrounded by four votive candles in purple candleholders. The table numbers were on mini chalkboards as a nod to the couple’s profession. Favors were tins of mints with a picture of a wedding gown and tuxedo and the couple’s name and date of marriage. The groom’s aunt baked a beautiful wedding cake decorated to look like an American flag with red and white striped frosting and white butter cream stars.  They also had a larger cake to make sure all the guests got their fill. This one had white decorative frosting with purple ribbon around each tier and fresh purple flowers as an accent. Robert wasted no time spinning his bride around the dance floor as they danced their first dance to Marry Me by Zachery Kale. Then Abby took a turn with her father to Butterfly Kisses, followed by Robert and his mother dancing to I Hope You Dance. The couple was originally introduced through the bride’s sister. Robert was working as a teacher and coach at the same school as Abby’s sister. Their similar interests as teachers (Abby is an elementary school teacher) brought them together. Robert will soon be working as a youth minister at a church. Robert’s father recognized the importance of faith in a relationship during his speech to the couple. Abby’s father spoke of his hopes for the couple’s life, which we have no doubt will be filled with love and support from the bride and groom and from each of their families. The evening ended with a signature Villa Siena sparkler farewell. Congratulations Abby and Robert.
