Meghan and Gus brought friends and family together for their wedding ceremony and reception December 27, 2013. The depth of their love was clear as the bride teared up after the ceremony when her groom took her in his arms.
Meghan brought a classic look to the ceremony with a strapless gown with drop waist and mermaid flair. The bridal veil was edged with scalloped lace bringing an elegant simplicity to the look. Jewelry included a pearl necklace, pearl bracelet and diamond earrings. The bridal bouquet was filled with orange, yellow and white hydrangeas and roses. Under her gown Meghan wore a pair of pink heels with black polk-a-dots. The bridesmaids offered a bright flash of color with red strapless ankle length gowns with a slit up the front.
To meet his bride, Gus wore a black tuxedo with black tie and white handkerchief. His groomsmen complimented him with black tuxedos and bow ties.
The indoor ceremony showcased candles and red rose petals along the aisle and candles on the altar. During the ceremony, Meghan’s cousin gave a reading and Meghan’s cousin’s husband sang a song. One of their guests played the guitar and sang.
At the reception, both the maid of honor and best man gave toasts. The bride’s father also spoke and told stories about the bride growing up. Their first dance was to Lou Reed’s Perfect Day.
The bride’s mother made kettle corn for the guests, which was well appreciated. To compliment the salty was the sweet, with a three-tiered wedding cake with piping on each layer. Boxes of candy were favors.
