A\nMulti-Cultural Ceremony for Heather and Aaron<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heather and Aaron\u2019s April wedding wasn\u2019t just\nthe joining of two people in love \u2014 it was the joining of two cultures. The\nceremony honored both western wedding traditions and Aaron\u2019s Filipino culture,\ncreating a beautiful event that we were delighted to take part in!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wedding had a vibrant color scheme of\ngold\/yellow and purple, which was reflected in the floral arrangements\ndecorating the Plaza Toscana. The bridesmaids wore elegant floral gowns in a\nlight gray color, while Aaron and his groomsmen wore cream-colored barong (a\ntraditional Filipino dress shirt) with khaki pants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the ceremony began, Heather walked down the\naisle to a live pianist playing Rascal Flatts\u2019 \u201cBless the Broken Road.\u201d She was\nlovely in a v-neck ball gown with a lace bodice, lace train, and ultra-long\nveil. When the bride and groom\u2019s eyes met, they both beamed and it was clear\nthat they loved each other very, very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony featured both western wedding\ntraditions and Filipino ones. The couple lit a unity candle, and they also\nparticipated in veil, cord, and coin ceremonies per Filipino tradition. But no\nmatter which traditions the couple followed, there was one thing that remained\nuniversal: when the ceremony was over, our lovebirds were husband and wife\n(yay!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon, guests moved indoors for the reception,\nwhich featured dinner from Park Avenue Catering. Everyone enjoyed a delicious\nsoup station (which included tomato basil bisque, french onion, and broccoli\ncheese options), a green salad, twice-baked potato casserole, green beans with\nalmonds, oven-roasted seasonal veggies, beef tips over rice, and apricot-ginger\nglazed pork tenderloin \u2014 yum!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple kicked off the evening\u2019s\nfestivities by dancing to \u201cIslands In The Stream\u201d by Dolly Parton and Kenny\nRogers. Heather then danced with her father to \u201cStand by Me\u201d before dancing\nwith her mother to \u201cBecause You Loved Me.\u201d The evening was filled with\nlaughter, fun, and love \u2014 the perfect start to Heather and Aaron\u2019s marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
