Ivy and Alex, who met while participating in high school journalism, were married on January 25, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivy looked beautiful in a strapless ballgown with a\nsweetheart neckline, embellished bodice, and full tulle skirt with a train. She\naccessorized with diamond-shaped drop earrings and a matching pendant necklace,\njeweled satin flats, and a full-length veil studded with pearls. Her bouquet\nwas composed of roses in shades of pale pink and ivory, white anemones, thistles,\nand greenery. Her maid of honor wore a full-length dusty rose dress with an\noff-the-shoulder lace bodice and a flowing skirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex wore a dark gray suit with a white shirt, blue tie with\nwhite polka dots with a matching pocket square, and a thistle boutonniere. He\nwas accompanied by a best man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple read personal vows to each other during the\noutdoor ceremony. Alex called himself the luckiest man ever because of their\nshared love and quirkiness, and promised Ivy his heart. Ivy promised to be\nAlex\u2019s wife and his best friend forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, guests dined on baby greens wrapped in cucumber strips\nwith mandarin oranges, fresh berries, crumbled feta cheese, sugared walnuts,\nand raspberry vinaigrette; grilled mahi-mahi with mango salsa; flatiron steak\nwith chimichurri sauce; creamy Yukon Gold mashed potatoes; and sweet\nginger-glazed carrots. The guests were also given Venezuelan chocolates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the speeches, the maid of honor said that marrying\nAlex has made Ivy\u2019s childhood dreams come true, and spoke about how Ivy makes\nher a better person and how she takes care of Alex. The best man said that he\nhas always looked up to Alex, and complimented Ivy\u2019s family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivy and Alex shared their first dance to \u201cI Will Follow You\nInto the Dark\u201d by Jasmine Thompson. Ivy and her father danced to \u201cA Whole New\nWorld\u201d by Lea Salonga and Brad Kane. Alex and his mother danced to \u201cLights\u201d by\nJourney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other wedding fun included a \u201cWhen You Wish Upon a Star\u201d\ntheme, a shoe game, and an anniversary dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests could choose from an almond-flavored cake with\nvanilla buttercream frosting or chocolate cake with raspberry ganache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope Alex and Ivy share a long and happy life together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
