A friend’s birthday party is always a great way to meet new people. When Steff and Hayden were introduced they probably had no idea they would one day be married. That day came on April 19, 2015.
At the guest sign-in table, pictures of the couple’s family were displayed in frames along with a sign reading From near or far and up above your family wishes you a lifetime of love. During the ceremony the couple exchanged personalized vows – the groom recited his from memory. As part of their vows they also included a wine ceremony and the Jewish tradition of breaking a glass.
Hayden wore a black tuxedo with piping, a white shirt and black tie for his wedding day and surrounded himself with his best friends and family as groomsmen. They also wore black tuxedos with piping, black vests and black ties. The bridesmaids were dressed in black strapless gowns that came to the knee. All eyes were on Steff during the ceremony as she was dressed in a strapless gown with empire waist and rouching across the bodice. Her hair was worn in a partial up-do. While the bride wore a veil for her wedding ceremony, afterwards she removed the veil to reveal gold flowers in her hair. Bright yellow sunflowers filled the bride’s bouquet as well as flower arrangements for the ceremony and reception.
For toasts, the couple sipped out of crystal champagne flutes that rested in a silver stand. Guests were encouraged to enjoy the photo booth that came complete with props to dress up in. The wedding cake was decorated with white fondant quilt detail on the first and third tiers and black scrolling decoration on the middle tier. Each layer was wrapped with a black satin ribbon.
During the maid of honor’s speech she talked about how anyone can fall in love with a friend the same way you can fall in love with a partner, while the father of the groom shared that Hayden was not only his son but his best friend as well.
