Melissa & Dominic ~ October 12, 2014

Melissa and Dominic met for coffee on their first date. Early into their relationship, they agreed they were both ready for marriage. After only a few weeks of dating Dominic bought an SUV so he could help Melissa move a keyboard to her church. This is how she knew he was serious about the relationship. During the wedding ceremony on October 12, 2014 the point was made through bible passages, that “two are better than one.”

For her wedding day, Melissa chose an Alfred Angelo strapless gown with organza and lace overlay and beaded detailing. The A-line skirt gave the dress a classic feel, while Melissa wore her hair in an up-do. A pearl rope necklace added simple elegance. Her bridesmaids wore flattering deep purple gowns with empire waists and flowing skirts. The groom wore a black tuxedo with silver vest and tie. His groomsmen wore the same ensemble but had purple roses in their lapels while the groom chose a calla lily to set him apart.

As guests entered the Villa they were greeted with a table with the word LOVE on it and pictures of the couple’s parents and grandparents. After guests were seated, the ceremony commenced. Part of the ceremony included lighting a unity candle.

Afterwards, the bridal party entered the reception dancing to Shout by the Isley Brothers. Purple up-lighting personalized the reception space, as did the centerpieces, which consisted of three tiers of vases filled with orchids in water and candles floating on top.

During speeches the father of the bride talked about raising Melissa, her academic achievements and meeting Dominic. He then complimented his new son-in-law by saying Melissa had a good partner in him. The best man also talked about how caring Dominic is and how obvious it is that he loves Melissa. Dominic showed his groomsmen how much he cared by giving them a groom’s gift of a silver flask wrapped in leather engraved with their names.

The couple chose a traditional first dance to God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes followed by the father and daughter dance to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw.

For fun a photo booth was set up for guests to capture the day. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, a one-tiered cake topper sat above several tiers of cupcakes. The cake was decorated with swirls, purple ribbon and fresh purple roses.

Congratulations Melissa and Dominic. May the bud of your love blossom throughout the years to come. We wish you the best.
