Cassie & Alan ~ October 3, 2014

wedding 15

Eight years ago Cassie and Alan met while running track together. The two were married October 3, 2014. As part of their ceremony 1st Corinthians was read, emphasizing how true love is here now and is the most important thing in our lives. The couple also presented their mothers with roses to show their love and appreciation for all their mothers have done for them. A wooden wine box was sealed with a bottle of wine and letters from the bride and groom to be opened on their anniversary.

For the ceremony Cassie wore a fitted strapless gown with beaded detailing down one side and rouching down the other. A mermaid flair and train finished the look. The bride’s veil featured embroidered flowers. Her bridesmaids wore cranberry, strapless floor-length gowns. The groom and his groomsmen were dressed in grey tuxedos with satin piping, grey vests, white shirts and black ties. Instead of traditional boutonnières, they used shell casings to hold a white rose. Cassie chose a more traditional bouquet filled with white roses with a diamond brooch in a leaf pattern.

The best man and the groom have shared a special bond since birth and in the 4th grade the best man even had a crush on Cassie. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister who spoke of all the firsts they had been through together. Alan’s father spoke of how Alan always wanted everything in life to happen quickly and with Cassie it was no different, he was in a hurry to marry the love of his life.

The couple’s first dance was to We Belong Together followed by the mother & son dance to I Love You Most by the Beatles. Cassie and her father danced to I Loved Her First.

Sweet treats included the four-tiered wedding cake accented with edible pearls and wrapped with burgundy ribbon as well as a candy table. On top of the cake sat a hand-drawn caricature of the couple.

Congratulations Cassie and Alan. May the next eight years of your lives be filled with even more love and happiness than the first eight. We wish you the best.
