July 26, 2013 brought a family we won’t soon forget to Villa Siena. The Boswell-Jackson family gathers biannually for a family reunion. This year the celebration took place in the Firenze Ballroom.
Each reunion is organized by a different family member and has a unique theme. This year the theme was the Black & White ball celebrating forty years of family reunions. Awards are given out during the night to deserving family members. Some of the awards are playful and some are serious including a scholarship award. Award certificates were framed, and gift bags accompanied some of the awards.
To greet the guests, a large photograph of the family was displayed in the entrance hall. During cocktail hour a mashed potato bar was available to guests as they arrived and got reacquainted with one another.
Tables were named for those family members who had passed as a way of continuing to include them in the celebration.
After dinner the band Outside the Line played while people got up and let loose on the dance floor. Everyone looked magnificent. Memories created during the night were recorded through photographs to be shared with future generations.
