Uyen & Lance ~ August 28th, 2010

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Uyen Nguyen & Lance Carlson first met in 7th grade science class and finally became husband and wife in a beautiful ceremony at Villa Siena on August 28th, 2010. The indoor ceremony was full of funny little moments that brought the entire crowd to laughter & fit the atmosphere perfectly for this fun-filled event! Uyen, an ice skating instructor, and Lance, a firefighter, created an astonishing ceremony & reception full of personal & unique touches. Uyen even created her own wedding dress that was truly stunning!!

The fun & energetic couple started off the reception to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and followed it up with a crowd pleasing choreographed 2nd dance to Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” that created a true LOL moment.    The reception was decorated beautifully in a soft pink & deep purple color scheme with tables adorned with stunning Manzanita branch centerpieces adorned with orchids & votives surrounded by beautiful light pink hydrangeas. Throughout the evening guests enjoyed a candy table full of sweet treats as well as an exquisite four tier wedding cake provided by La Dolce Pesca. To go along with Lance’s career as a firefighter, Uyen had a grooms cake specially created to look like a yellow firefighter’s helmet with the newlywed’s last name written on the back in butter cream.  Super creative table numbers in black frames at each table were labeled “Engine 1,2,3 etc” and were an inventive addition to the décor that evening. Lance’s brother and Best Man, Clint, gave a very touching toast as he gave his brother & new sister-in-law advice that he was asked to pass along from their father, who recently passed away.    Everyone was holding back tears. The couple ended the fantastic evening after dancing up a storm with close friends and family! Congratulations Uyen & Lance and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day! Raquel & Jim ~ 9/10/2010

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Raquel and Jim’s Italian theme was brought to life here at Villa Siena on September 10th, 2010. The couple fell in love with Italy while traveling and planned to incorporate the theme into their special day. Instead of using traditional escort cards, Raquel and Jim had luggage tags made indicating where there guests would be jetting away to for the evening. Then, on their tables, they had black and white photographs of different cities in Italy. What a creative way to incorporate the theme!

The couple also chose a simple black and ivory color scheme and added a touch of sparkle to make their wedding day look nothing short of spectacular. The crystal chandeliers, crystal candelabra centerpieces, and ivory cake trimmed with rhinestones sparkled throughout the night in the Firenze Ballroom. Not to mention, the bridal party sparkled as well with the beautiful jewelry Raquel created for them and herself.

Raquel and Jim plan to return to Europe shortly after they are settled in as husband and wife. We wish them all the best in their travels and marriage!

A special thank you to Marriot Photography for these wonderful images!

Bianka’s Quinceanera ~ 9/4/2010

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

It’s not everyday Villa Siena hosts a Quinceanera, but let us tell you, Bianka Nicole Onofre sure knows how to throw one fantastic Quince! With the help of her Godparents, Art and Martha, they were able to create a fashionable, upbeat, and beautiful fiesta. The Quinceanera began with a traditional Spanish Catholic mass celebrating her transition from a girl to a young woman in our Chianciano Banquet Hall. Following the mass was a cocktail hour, where guests enjoyed delicious passed hor’dourves including Jamaican shrimp, tomato bruchetta, and chipotle chicken wontons.   During cocktail hour guests were serenaded to by a traditional mariachi. With the great food and lively music, it was impossible not to have a wonderful time!

As the cocktail hour concluded, guests found their seating assignments by handmade miniature dresses on beautiful handmade gold racks. The price tag on the dress even indicated their table number followed by another miniature dress with guests name at each of their place settings! What a creative idea! Her Aunt was kind enough to sew 120 of these beautiful dresses. The style did not end with her table assignments; the birthday girl actually designed her dress herself! With a beautiful gown like this, we see a bright future for fashion design in her future! Not to mention, her cake was themed around issues of vogue, Louis Vuiton, pearls, and heels!

One of the most entertaining parts of the evening was the traditional waltz and modern dance the birthday girl and her court of honor prepared for their guests! This had the crowd smiling, laughing, and even shedding a few tears. Her Godparents and family members also shared many beautiful speeches honoring the woman Bianka has become and following their speeches picture slideshows were prepared by her Godparents as well. Bianka, friends, and family danced the rest of the night away!

Camille & David ~ August 26th, 2010

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Camille & David’s night began with a candle light ceremony amongst their friends and family. The groom’s uncle, Terry Sims, led them in the sharing of their vows which added a nice personal touch. Soft shades of pink, crème, and chocolate brown combined to create a rich color scheme touching the bouquets, centerpieces…, place cards, and programs. It was also quite evident that David and Camille have a sweet tooth! Between the dazzling array of candy for guests to take home as a sweet treat and the towering cupcake cake, guests left the reception on a sugar high! The evening could end in no other fashion than a sparkler send-off by their families and friends. Congratulations David and Camille! A special thank you to O Grace Photography for these wonderful images.
